On a recent trip to the grocery store i had my camera and took a couple of pictures along the way…
This is the now hidden house on Land of Promise Road. I hate to see old farm houses die a slow death. I think of all the wonderful stores it might have had to tell.
I also took a picture of the new construction across from where CeCe used to live. I guess it was bound to happen:
Two new houses in the neighborhood.
Yesterday we’d planned to go meet Melissa and Rob in Emporia as they made their way back home from Richmond where they spent their first anniversary weekend! But after weighing the pros and cons we opted out of the 2 hours or more drive it would take to rendevouz for a 20-30 minute breakfast. Traffic in the morning after a major holiday would have made getting there and back an almost all day event. Plus if we were late it wouldn’t hold them up, just sitting there waiting.
Since we didn’t go, I worked online and Danny went to Pungo to check on parts and maybe get the car inspected. (cough) Inspection at the end of a month with a holiday? I don’t think so. But when he left I told him to see if he could find a sub for lunch, ending with a “surprise me.”
He came back with a lovely sub AND my surprise!
It was more of a stunner than a surprise. I do believe my mouth dropped open.
