Yesterday was the first time I’d seen anyone all week. We went to Happy Hour; yes, my back was hurting, but I endured til the 8pm breakdown. PJs and the remote and the bed were very welcomed.
I’m happy to say that since we got back home all the time of “waiting” is over and I’m now seriously endeavoring to fix this weight gain that happened since November. I still need to go see my other doc and check if this is a menopause thing. In the meantime, therapies are over, sick is over, the trip is over and we’re back on home turf. And the real diet and lifestyle changes are kicking in.
I’ve lost about 5 pounds already. I was worried about all the food at Happy Hour, but my weigh-in this morning was identical to yesterday. No damage done! Whew! We learned a lot of tips from Dan’s dad during our visit and were very inspired about a lot of things; the first thing we did was go grocery shopping, filling our cart with tons of fruit and veggies and whole wheat bread (even that has been cut back too). We’re walking more, enjoying it more and I can’t wait to see more improvements in the near future.
The Elations joint juice is remarkable and even Daddy, after fighting it for so long, was singing praises last night, for the healing properties found in those tiny bottles (Was an act of congress just to get him to try the stuff).
On our way to pick up a can of beans for tomorrow’s steak dinner family fest we stopped by a few yard sales. I got a new shirt, some bamboo window blinds, and a new camera tripod for myself. Dan got 4 batteries for hand tools that had never been tested for 50¢ (yes, all) and I think I saw a very long shop power strip out there too. I got a few items for my store, like a real nice Case Logic bag and some vintage Magi Cubes for old Kodaks (very collectible). We’ll see how those go. The store has been great and I’m about $200 ahead of where I was this time last year. I like it and we have fun with it.
Oh yeah, I thot this was funny. I get home and lay down on the wooden bench we have at the foot of our bed for exercise. I look up. What do I see. The fan is running with the light below it shining brightly. Besides a few little du-hickies in the center there is this ‘thing’ running in circles (probably because the bulb is heating). I blink and really focus! I see feelers and feet! Click to enlarge the picture!
They are everywhere you don’t want them to be.
