Gosh, time flies these days. I’ve been so busy since I became an Admin on the Ecrater Stores Network and blog site. Because I’m a morning person I usually try to be available early in the day until the other Admins show up. The ESN is growing daily and we have almost 400 members now. I am one of the Go-To people for those who are learning.
But Dan and I still manage to make it out once in a while, but lately we’ve been sticking close to home because it’s just too darn hot! We had rain last night so this morning was cool (briefly). He got up early so he could go into the shop and work a little. Being in a metal building in nearly 100° heat is not good. Yesterday he came in and said some of the things he’s working on will have to be brought in the house – it’s too hot for the glue to set up. I think he’s making gaskets.
On Monday I went with Mom to get her lab work done…they keep close eye on her and adjust her meds accordingly. While we were out she wanted to get one of those canes that has the four feet on the bottom for more stability. We were right down the street from a thrift store and I suggested we check one more time in case one was available (they cost $50 new).
Well, we stopped; they didn’t have a cane, BUT they did have a treadmill! We’ve been looking for one for Mom, ever since I read how people with imbalance can improve by regular exercise. The sidewalks are so uneven at her house, plus it’s been too hot to go outside.
I asked if we could get a better price and the lady who runs the place (and knows us well) gave us an even better deal. She plugged the Proform and showed Mom all the features. Then (yes, she did) Mom got up there and gave it a test run, err…walk). It was fine! We paid for the thing and unknown to poor Danny at the time, we said we’d come back later to pick it up.
By the time I got home the day was almost over. Dan said sure, let’s go…so here we went. I’d barely been home a minute. We drove over, discovered the thing was on wheels and wheeled it to the SUV. We managed to get it loaded and off we went. We waited for Bro to get home to help carry it into the house where it was placed in the living room so Mom can watch her soaps while walking her way to better health.
She called the next day…said to tell Dan thanks for getting it and that she’d done it two times, by herself, and it was “GREAT.”
I think we have a winner, don’t you?
