You know it’s been dicey around here lately when it comes to knowing what day it is. It’s not that we’re stupid or anything. But ever since Hub’s retired there’s very little to differentiate between days. Add to that that we were gone so much last month and there was a holiday and three birthdays in there and now I don’t know which week I’m on either.
I knew it was on the 19th, this appointment to get my labs done. But what happened? I looked right at the calendar and said, “Let’s go!” And go we went.
I sign in and sit down. They pull my chart and a few minutes later a lady comes to tell me that my appointment isn’t until NEXT Monday. Oh, dear! So she went to see if they could work me in.
Yes-in-deedy! My lucky day! What a blessing to be sure. We hadn’t sat there watching TV and reading year old magazines in vain!
Now, you know how I think things happen for a reason. I kept telling myself that as I watched the boring news over and over on the big screen. When my name was called I found out what it was.
The technician, who is the best around, is leaving…her husband is going to be stationed in Chicago and they are moving! And…because she’s preggers she’s dropping work early to get things ready in slo-mo. Friday is going to be her last day!
SO you see, if I’d come in Monday as scheduled, there’s no telling who I’d get or even if they’d have anyone there! It all worked out to the good! Love when the plan backfires and still comes together!
