So Pick One Already

I have been having the hardest time deciding how best to use this cool super bulky yarn I found. It is so thick and soft, and a beautiful shade of burgundy red. I started out thinking ‘crochet a hat,’ but somehow I thought it would end up being TOO thick and heavy. It was really difficult to catch all the tiny shards making up the big strand.
So then I thought I’ll try making a hat on the loom. No, that really wasn’t working for me either. Start over.
Maybe a scarf will do the trick. It would be so nice and warm. So I started crocheting. Dang! I do such a nice tight stitch that it doesn’t have that softness I’m looking for. But I am liking the scarf idea. How about knitting? Feeling brave?
So I thought I’d be brave.. Wow! It’s actually working. BUT I’ve made it way too wide. Bite the bullet and unravel again. So now it’s narrower, but already I can see it’s gonna be stiff as a board. Darn tight stitches! Back to crochet one more time, just in case I misjudged.
No, I was right. It’s wrong. I may as well see if it will work on the loom. No, not the round one…the rectangle one. That’ll keep the edges from curling.
So far, so good. It feels soft. It has just the right amount of open weave to it. The sides aren’t curling (maybe just a tad on the end). And to think, I only pulled it off the loom and started over 4 times to get the right width. Man! This stuff shrinks up to about half what you think it’ll be. And you have to do about 3 inches or so before you can really tell.
But at this point I’m going to go get my PJs on, find the remote, grab the loom and move forward with my simple plan. Don’t you just love creating stuff?!
