I don’t usually buy yarn, but I had to today. I am planning to make something special for a Christmas gift. Even though I have so much yarn around here, naturally there isn’t enough of anything to make what I’m going to do.
So we head to Michaels, which I have never liked because they are so high priced (hence all the coupons, which I never have). They have some of what I need, but not the multi-color stuff. Crap! Here we go, over to find an A.C. Moore. Keep in mind we don’t live near anything except fields and trees. Plus a bridge is out so we are twice as far than usual.
Good Grief! Moore's has only 2 skeins of what I need. Any more in back? Duh – what was I thinking to even ask?! So I had them call the only other store for miles around. Yep! “We have plenty!”
I'd been there before a long time ago. I can picture it, but not enough to tell Hubster which way to turn when we get to the road…which goes all the way from the Virginia Beach Oceanfront to Norfolk. A long road to say the least.
Well, after a couple of ‘ahem’ discussions, we finally get there. The shelf is full; we grab a few more of the ‘right stuff’ and head home.
Did I mention that Hubster has put in his request for me to make him camouflage scarf? Add that to my list of things to do before Christmas too. But he’s a good guy, and we ended our A.C. Moore discussions amicably enough, and he paid for everything. So why not?!
Now where are my reading glasses? I gotta see this stuff!
