After the Wild Night

We were VERY lucky last night. We sat for hours watching as the terrible tornado-laden storms moved closer and closer. About 9 people died in NC, and 3 more in Gloucester County, VA. So many homes were lost. One storm went to the left of us, one to the right, skimming by both times. It was so intense I would have hated to have had a direct hit.

For us, we had a really big pine limb come down. How it missed nailing the red barn I don't know. The limb is L shaped and fit right up to the doors and curved around the side.

At Mom and Dad's the line of Red Cedars that they planted in 1964 now has a hole in it. Two of the trees split apart; one landed on a neighbor's boat trailer (not too bad), and the other took down power wires from the house and out to the boat landing light pole.
