And now that the sun is actually out we've been doing some prep work for our upcoming garden. Up for plenty of discussion is whether to move the herbs from the side of the garage to a new home behind the greenhouse. We've determined that we don't need that much garden this year. The stupid squash, a big room taker, was a total waste of time last year, so eliminate that!
The herbs in question are mostly mint and some parsley. The positive of them on the side is that they are confined and cannot become a zealous weed. On the other hand they get little sun on the north side of the house and a prime southern exposure would be delightful, I'm sure.
Anyway, here are my 'pre-garden' photos:

We have also purchased some new herbs like Basil and Rosemary. God forbid, I should ever live it down that I moved the old Rosemary last year from the side of the garage and HE didn't like it. So we moved it back. It promptly died. Now you have to understand, this was a rather large plant after years of living in the 'wrong' spot, with a trunk as large as my fist. But it was leggy and reaching for light and falling all over the sidewalk so you couldn't walk. I had to move it. Don't blame me if it died. It would have made it if HE hadn't insisted we put it back. So now he has a new one to baby. I refuse to touch it. And we want to make sure it will be permanently wherever we put it (as long as it's the 'right' spot)!
