The Folks Are Here!

Just ahead of all the terrible storms that have been coming up the coast, Claude and Betty made it in on Tuesday evening. They came right through some of the hard hit areas while things were still intact. Now, if they can find a hole to get back to their home in Colorado they will be leaving early Sunday morning.

In the meantime we're enjoying having them visit with us. Since they are both photographers we went to the Norfolk Botanical Gardens so Betty could get some great photos of all the azaleas for her handmade notecards (which are beautiful, btw).

Betty had so many beautiful choices; it was hard to decide which way to go!

Claude went from side to side taking pictures while going down Statuary Lane. This was taken from half-way down the corridor.
As luck would have it, we actually got to see the resident eagle soaring above; Betty quickly snapped a couple of photos. Alas, Danny only got a photo of the nest.

But he did get some really nice ones of the blooming palm trees:

Me, I got the smaller things,

When we had walked as far as possible in the humid forest we exited to Norfolk and had lunch at Doumar's. Claude actually knew the last Mr. Doumar, remembering him from his youth. We had classic BBQ and Cheeseburgers for lunch with a Root Beer and Limeade and a scoche of fries before returning home for well-deserved naps.

Today we are on separate paths with Dan heading to the dentist while I go to exercise and the senior Jordans go visit her sister in a local nursing home. We're all looking forward to tomorrow, weather permitting we may go to the Pungo Airport and definitely doing Friday night Happy Hour.
