Today I noticed the first Dogwoods blooming along the road edge. It took me a minute to realize I was seeing something different. It was almost like, "Ding, ding, ding...Round 2!' First the Bradford Pears, now the Dogwoods. Hallelujah!
Melissa and Rob were in for the weekend. She was in her friend's wedding. Melissa is seated in the photo below. It was so nice to see them both together. He's always working and doesn't often get to come. They are like the perfect couple...it's like all couples are supposed to be and a joy to see. I'm still hoping we will get down to Florida to see them one of these days. That will stay on my 'to-do' list for a while I'm afraid. Maybe Mom and I should just break out and go!Mom and I went to see Francis this week. She's in a nursing home. Although it was nice to be able to see her and I'm sure she doesn't get very many visitors down there, with all her family up here, it was still tough to do. Francis can barely speak and often that is repeating only a few words of what we say to her. The strokes have left such a shell of the delightful and often annoying way that Francis would talk loudly and animatedly no matter where she was. I miss those days so much now. She was always so very special.
