The Last One

The last boat job has left the premises! PTL! Danny's says that's it...the last one. Ever since he started having back issues it's just been harder and harder for him to manage heavy lifting of things like motors. Add to that the fact that since retiring he hasn't been able to keep up with new technology because he's no longer being sent to 'boat school.' It's just as well. I think his life's agenda is heading in other directions now. He's already regrouping his shop, sorting through tools, etc. Don't be surprised if you see some tools on eBay or in the Eccentric Thrifter store one of these days!

Over the last weekend Melissa came home for a visit. On Saturday, after Mom finished her MRI at the new hospital (to see if there's any reason for dizziness in her head) she and I met the girls and Lynne at the local IHOP. We had a wonderful time together and laughed and ate and just felt good. Really nice!

Little Abby is fine and dandy. We got an email from the HomeAgain microchip company website. Yes, she's chipped so we'll always be able to figure out where she is should the unthinkable ever occur. I seriously doubt she will run away. I can barely walk for her; she always wants to be with us. Our girl is definitely a people dog and Danny and I are her two people. I think she adopted us instead of us adopting her! Anyway, Abby now has her own page online, with photo and description. Nice profile don't you think?

Today the store Irene became a hurricane. They think it will have some kind of impact here, maybe as soon as Saturday. We're not waiting until the last minute to get things picked up. Dan cleaned up the shop enough to make room for the Miata today. Good thing he started early; he had crap all over the place from sorting tools!

Today I pulled up a bunch of those red flowers that were growing out of the patio cracks. (see earlier photo) They had all but taken over the entire patio. They were already going to seed, which are little black dots about the size of a pin head. I took my broom out there and swept up a bunch of seeds. I guarantee they will come back year after year. If they can come back in a 1/4 inch or smaller crack just think what they'll do in real soil? Anyone interested in having some?

Tomorrow is my SIL's birthday so Big shout - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ROB!!
