Can you believe May is almost gone?! Judging by the date of my last post it's been fairly busy in my neck of the woods. The weather has been just plain ol' crappy and you can hardly tell it's supposed to be warm outside except for the birds making nests and feeding young. Even May Flies are reluctant to go out! I have only seen 2 in the last couple of days. I guess that could be called a silver-lining. The cold dampness has wrecked havoc with my arthritis (yes, I can feel a storm coming) so Hubster and I have been watching more TV movies than usual; after lunch naps are also on an up-swing. ;)

After thinking about it for over a year I finally created a Facebook group page for the Blackwater/Gibbs Woods communities. On April 28
BlackwaterVB (VB for Virginia Beach) was born and already boasts over 80 members. Fear of failure kept me from hitting that create button all those other times. Now, I could kick myself for not taking that leap of faith! Just this week someone posted about cars being broken into - that's great information to be shared so we can all stay on point! I've made it easy for folks to post, whether it's security or something to buy or sell, lost dogs, or other what-have-yous!
Speaking of faith, I've been working on a lot of church stuff lately. Ms. Sylvia and I recently got together to select hymns for June - December. A committee had met in January to choose songs through May and we just wanted to get a jump-start. Our list was I'm still finalizing that list, especially since she's taking a break until July and I will have to play piano for services. Nothing like picking something you can't play to mess up your Sunday LoL!
I've also been working for months to get an updated Church Directory published. I've been contacting folks for info and re-added some members who had previously been omitted. I figure just because a member doesn't attend regularly it doesn't make them ineligible to be included, right? It won't be much longer now until Directories are available.
The Crochet Club ditched a few meetings on stormy nights, but I've been crocheting at home. I'd thought about doing a real long stocking cap on the loom, but just can't get in the mood. I've still got a group blanket to put together, but I'm waiting for one more block a member is working on. I have large red blocks laid out on my kitchen table... it's like putting a puzzle together.

Cabana Threads Hawaiian shirt store is doing well right now (guess it must be warm somewhere else). Yesterday we sorted through shirts that need to be added to the online inventory. Max the Mannequin is ready to be dressed so new photos can be taken. I keep debating whether to get more shirts since Google has invented yet another way to throw a monkey wrench into my life. They want UPC numbers for everything now. Pre-owned shirts don't come with tags or numbers, thank you! I don't know what I'll do :( Well life goes on. I guess I could always make Hawaiian pillows!
