Feeling Good

So much rain the other week. It gives me have a greater awareness of compassion for people who lose their homes in major floods. We had nothing by comparison except some inconvenience. I had to cancel a couple of appointments because there was absolutely no way out of here - regardless of which road you chose there were impassible floods stopping your way. So we stayed in for three days, watching the incessant water come down from the skies. Not far from here they got about 14-15 inches. It was crazy to have this happening here!

I remember once when I was little it flooded a lot. At the curve by Mill Dam Bridge the flooding came up to my grandmother's yard. We rolled up our pants & walked in the water to our knees (What were we thinking? Luckily we weren't thinking about water moccasins swimming about)!

So right before the "big flood of 2016" we had our yard sale the weekend before. We'd waited three years to have it since he had a heart attack right before the last attempt. We did pretty good and sold quite a bit of stuff; I had added items from my online store too. Afterwards we took three loads of leftovers to the local DAV thrift store and still have more to go! Gosh, but it feels good to finally get rid of all those boxes that lived in the garage for so long!

This 'ain't' the half of it!

 Stuff was everywhere!

Here's one of my neighbors perusing the goods!
