Transition

Has it really been almost a month since my last post? I've thought about posting several times, but life has seemed less than noteworthy at best in recent days. That's not to say that it hasn't been filled with moments of drama. Of course we just spent the weekend with a hurricane passing by. Five hours of no electricity and trying to read a book in dim light when I wasn't sleeping the day away.

The timing couldn't have been worse as I had the unpleasant experience of battling an infection. My dear sweet Hubster, who must truly love me a lot, went out in the midst of a hurricane to the pharmacy to pick up an antibiotic for me. That was after I checked my smart little phone for photos of downed trees between here and there. Today I do feel much better.

Yesterday was the first Sunday of our new church year. So much transition as people swap jobs. I have now become the church clerk, recorder of meeting minutes and grand keeper of the roster. I'm getting ready to publish a new directory so we can call each other.

I am also the new Director of Music, although I'm not sure exactly what I should do besides approve expenses for any needs that are musically inclined. Also in the music area, I am a full-time part-time piano player. My nerves are getting the hang of it now that I don't have to start and stop 6 months between playing during services... I now play the first part of every service. I really like splitting it up with my dear Ms. Sylvia who takes the last half of the service. It really has taken the pressure off of both of us and works beautifully.

I still work on the website, but that too is in transition as someone new takes the helm. And the Crochet Club is ready to get cranked up again after stopping over the incredibly hot days of summer. Of course I'm still working on my summer project - an experimental crochet shrug. "Coat" it's turn out to be. It's almost done!

Trees are turning, the temperature was 60° this morning. I can't wait. I think I love transition!
