It's the last Sunday in January already. Boy, it's going by quickly! It's cold outside, it's going to get colder. My cold is better now, thank you.
Today we switched the dining room and kitchen tables. We've discussed it for a while now and today was the day. I figure we won't know if we like it unless we try it. We don't use the dining room except once a year and it's such a waste of space. I want to make a "sitting" room, a quiet place to go to read a book or crochet. Dan enjoys watching TV in the living room and I usually end up in the bedroom; I get tired of being in there.
I've got some of my plants in the dining room AKA sitting room already. We may put the rest in there from the kitchen. We took the leaf out of the dining table so it doesn't take up so much room. We have 6 chairs in the kitchen now, big heavy chairs, but they work better in the kitchen than they did on carpet. Mom and I always had trouble getting them moved so we could sit down before.
Anyway, we also worked on Danny's shop computer. He bought it in so we could get a few things straightened out on it. The plan was to upgrade his operating system, but the disc couldn't be read so we ended up swapping out disk readers and doing so many other things that the OS got forgotten. I personally don't think he remembers that this is JUST a shop computer. He can always watch a movie on his own in the house (or, duh, the TV).
I think I'm going to get a paid place online for my crochet stuff. Dan took a look at my research for me and it looks good so far. I am thinking about putting some of the afghans on there that I've made a while back as well as making a few more of those scarves. I can always pull out if it doesn't work out. And I've put a few more items on my new blog in conjunction with the new store.
I'm real stiff lately. My neck is getting so much worse. I keep trying to keep it moving, but then I get a headache or dizzy. I keep pretending it doesn't matter. But it's getting so it's hard to pretend.
Yesterday our little Beagle dog, Sweetie, apparently had a seizure. I let her out of her pen while it was warm. I noticed she didn't come bounding out like she usually does. I went to look at the garden while she sniffed around. I looked up to see her laying on some leaves in the middle of the yard. I didn't think much of it, thinking the leaves felt good to her, but then I noticed she was struggling to rise. She had fear in her eyes and I called Dan over, that something wasn't right. She finally got up and went to the bathroom, gradually holding up a front paw. I told Dan to see if something was in it, but in a minute or so she was down again, shaking all over. All we could do was talk to her and keep her company, petting her and waiting. Dan finally picked her up and took her into the garage when the shaking stopped and she still couldn't get up. I went next door and got Daddy to see if he'd seen this before and have some advise. By the time we got back it was all over and she was scurrying around like no tomorrow, sniffing at Dad's pants (bread smells from removing wrappers on the dog food) and investigating stuff like normal. This morning I went online and saw some videos on YouTube of other dogs having seizures; it confirmed my suspicions. So far, so good, she's eating well.
Speaking of garden (last paragraph) we are really enjoying our spinach. The first time we've grown any. Our salad eating has increased and you already know spinach is good for you, so what's not to love? We're just putting fresh leaves in the salad, sometimes with, sometimes in place of lettuce. Highly recommended to all - we only have 3 plants!
