Like anyone would, my little dog, Abby does not like to go out when it's wet and rainy and cold... just nasty stuff. That's about all the hurricane was with a big dose of high winds to boot. It was pretty tough on Abby girl, because I think she was almost to the point of popping rather than go outside to take her little wiz.
We put her little tan sweater on her to help her out. She loved that. See with all the recent testing to see why she's itching she's lost some fur in strategic places like her soft tender stomach. Being a little terrier means coping a squat puts that little underbelly smack dab on the cold wet ground.
Alas, it was so wet and nasty for so long her sweater wasn't having enough time to dry out. It was getting cold on her. She snuggled up in her little personal afghan I'd crocheted last year.
Long story short - Abby's getting a new back-up plan sweater.
I'm making it on the loom and right now it's about half done. I love working these on the knitting loom... it's just a lot of fun for me. In addition to the camo yarn I found a soft light green to add to it that; I'm working both threads as if they were one. This will add a little more bulk to the sweater as looms tend to leave a more open weave to projects. I'm also going to make this sweater a longer than the tan one so it will cover a little more tummy.
TIP: Using a large smooth bowl makes it easy to corral yarn, especially when you're using multiple skeins at a time. My large aluminum bowl is 15 inches across with plenty of 'rolling' room.
I'll be sure and share a photo of Abby in her new duds soon!
