I went to church this morning. I usually arrive by 8:30 to meet with the Praise Team before actual Sunday School starts. I was only a tad bit late. I had forgotten I'd need to de-ice the windshield so I could see. I didn't have anything to use (because I didn't want to go back into the house) so I used my black choir folder, which worked rather well, even if it did get a little moist inside and had to be dried later.
I had thought by looking outdoors, that it was very cold. Knowing that there had been a couple of issues with the church furnace losing its pilot light this past week, I didn't want to take a chance on being cold inside the church (you know how cavernous places can feel cold even in summer), so I pulled on a sweater instead of my usual blouse to wear. That'll take care of any potential chills that may come my way.
It wasn't too long as we rehearsed our songs, before I began to discover I had lost my mind by putting that sweater on. What was I thinking?! Luckily I live close enough to church to drive home for a quick change back into a shirt. That sweater was really doing its job and keeping me very very warm! So even though it is snowy on the outside, I was very warm on the inside.
Church was great, by the way. Not everyone came because of the weather, but most did. Later, as I sat on the front pew listening to the sermon the sun was in just the right position to flood through the colorful stained glass window panes... it was really awesome! (So was the sermon)!
Hope you get there next week!
