Spring Along

What a storm last night, but today everything is cool and clear and fresh. The plants are again practically squeaking as they push thru the soil. This week my big braided-truck hibiscus bloomed after over-wintering in the garage. I was a little worried about it; I usually keep it in the house in the winter. Two blooms so far!! Just wait until all the leaves come back on! It'll be gorgeous!

My Knock-out roses had been chopped back to the basic core this fall. I did Mom and Dad's too. I fretted for nothing, thinking I may have over-done it. But these are absolutely beautiful with the deep burgundy foliage and today I see buds forming. Yeah - I didn't kill them!

My store is doing well. I had 4 sales in one week after changing my color scheme. I'm not exactly sure that really had anything to do with it or not, but I like to think maybe I did something right for a change.

My load got lighter when I eliminated a community that was hanging on by a thread. The members moved to my other community and are enjoying dropping by every so often to share and discuss things relating to selling online. It's nice... I don't have so much to do as I did before.

I'm on my second book now. It's been so long since I simply read for pleasure. I love going on the deck to read. In fact, I went out there late yesterday evening and listened to the increasing wind in the new leaves now showing on the trees in the woods. It's like God Himself is blowing on them personally... He is so powerful and we see that every day if we only look and listen.

Yesterday Danny had planned to get a lot of things done. He went out and started cutting the grass in the back yard so Abby wouldn't be dragging the ground so much. But (I don't know what he was thinking) he was going beside a large tree about a foot away from the mower's discharge, when a gumball came flying out, hit the tree and ricocheted back to hit him in the eye. He washed it out, but ended up spending the rest of the day indoors. We're not sure if the eye got scratched. He said it felt like something was in there sometimes... sometimes not, I never saw anything. And depending on if he was sitting or laying down it felt different too. He hasn't said anything about it today, so I'm taking that as it's better.

I awoke last Sunday with a lot of pain in one shoulder. So I went to my massage on both Tuesday and Thursday. That girl knows her stuff because today I'm fine and dandy.

Tomorrow we will attend our first joint service at New Oak Grove Baptist Church. We've never attended the other years. I'm a little bit nervous though because I will have to direct our choir while there, so it's not like I just show up and sit down and enjoy everything. Plus I am going to sing a duet with Laurie Goodman again. And both of these will happen without any same-day rehearsal. I pray that God will be in control and that everything will occur as He sees fit.

As I do in all my things throughout every day.
