Abby Said

Abby said she needed new clothes. (What girl doesn't)? Never in a million years would I have thought I'd be parent to a little ball of fur, yet here I am.

We've been using shirts on Abby for over a year or better now. She itches a lot, sometimes cutting herself if we're not on point. This started as a reaction to the heavy flea population that was everywhere last year. The fleas are minimal now and very much controlled, but itches remain. We're almost on a first name basis with our vet from so many visits, and even he said, at our last visit, that he was out of ideas to try.... We've tried everything including changing house air filters, laundry detergent, going glutten-free, and much much more.

The closest thing we've found to a solution is Neutrogena T-Gel dandruff shampoo, which gives some relief, but isn't long lasting. I'm afraid the frequent baths are drying her out (even with Vaseline's clean-drying Moisture Lotion).

No, we're not crazy, just desperate. If it works and doesn't make her sick we're on it.

Back to the clothes... because she scratches she makes holes in her toddler-sized shirts. So we recently made a quick stop at the thrift store.

She's so funny - you should see her smile, yes, smile when she comes in wearing something new! Mouth slightly open, teeth shining, eyes bright. You can't see the eyes in photos and reflections make her look "possessed" but she's a happy dog, I assure you!
