Thanksgiving was great. We had a beautiful dinner at my brother's house. This year was the smallest crowd we've ever had. I can remember growing up when you were never sure who was going to be there... often times several of the deer hunters would appear at the door in camo and big old rubber boots. They would shed a few layers for the heated house while Mom and I grabbed extra plates and silverware. Then we'd all cram around the table. It was just the most loveliest thing to behold!
This year Melissa and Rob came in from FL and before they left they got our Christmas things down from the attic for me (since Danny's not doing any heavy lifting now-a-days). At this writing I have a fairly naked tree sitting in the corner and coils of lights beckoning to me each time I walk by. I like to do the lights in the dark - it's easier to see where they need to be, even if it is a little more tricky sticking your arm in to poke them in and not get scratched by the limbs.
I'd planned to pare down a few Christmas items earlier, but since it was still November I pulled a few that I was 'over' and took to the thrift store. One of these days I'll be satisfied with the final results. Isn't it weird how plans never quite evolve to the vision in your head? But keeping on keeping on is what it's all about so it's an overblown work in progress. Change is good, right?!
I hope you enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving among loved ones and wish you a terrific Christmas Season too! (yes, I said Christmas, not Holiday, because I meant Christmas, thank you)!
