It's been so cold the Crochet Club hasn't been able to meet (it takes too long for the room to warm up). Other weeks it's been Circle night. Combine those and we've mostly been working at home in our own little worlds.
My pink and black and white blanket has really turned out nice. I stopped working on it a while, but am almost done now. It's about 4 x 4 foot square. I want to just keep on working until I totally run out of the pink (not much left) and see how much longer it gets. Then I'll go around the edges with some black tricked out with a shot of gray perhaps.
I managed to try my hand at crocheting an elastic hair band. It turned out pretty good so I may drop by a drug store for a pack of new hair bands.
I need to try making a fancy sashay scarves. I've made Potato Chip scarves, but these seem a little more sophisticated. They're small enough to make good TV watching 'lap' projects. Crochet Club member, Megan, is really turning those out now and they look terrific.... so I 'm feeling inspired.
I got an email the other day that the Ruritans were including a craft fair at their next BBQ. Alas, I'd love to get a booth, but my daughter will be here to help celebrate a family birthday with us and I can't see spending one whole day out of her short weekend hoping someone will buy a hat from me. Maybe in the Fall they'll try again.
