Pink and Green
This is my last blanket for the current nursing home contribution run . We have eight going out.
In this pink and green number the darker color around the white and on the extreme outside looks brown, but is really a dark mauve that contrasts nicely with the large pink area. The deep green sets the framework. And when you think of it, pink and green looks great together... think pink rose and leaves.
We were discussing the way blankets 'turn' in the center. I know most blankets do this. Mine hadn't bothered me so much until we talked about it at the Crochet Club meeting. Looking at this photo it really stands out. I think it has to do with how tight you start your centers that makes it pull so much. I believe that as you get larger and crochet longer you tend to relax a little more and get a little looser, if only just a tad (probably because the piece is so much easier to hold on to than in the beginning when things are tiny).
