Do You Plan?

So often I'm asked "what do you have planned for today?" Other than an occasional doctor appointment I usually don't plan - it just seems to fall in place as I go. Today was no exception. We started out simply to visit the post office and mail a package and stop by the store for bread and a couple of other items.

Then we remembered that they just opened a new Salvation Army thrift store close to the store. Well, even though we just went we decided to go again. They just had a grand opening and it has been crowded; we thought it's early, so no crowds. We work our way through the store gradually picking up a couple of odds and ends, new videos, ebay items, etc. Then we came to the back room. We asked if it was off limits, housing new items for future display. No problem! Dan made a beeline and soon found a super deal on a dining table and six chairs!

Can you believe it?! We'd been talking for months about what to do with the grandma set Danny brought with him umpteen years ago. Now there was no turning back. We'd just bought a new used set and packed up and headed home.

The new set looks lovely, a big improvement over the antiquated one that needs refinishing. That set was soon in the sunshine getting photographed for a future sale. The new set is settling in and we even like the chair upholstery.

This was all totally unplanned! Don't you love each new day and all the surprises it holds?
