Projects

What a day it was yesterday. I was completely worn out. PO, Walmart, Home Depot and Lowe's, welder's place, CHKD and 2 Salvation Army stores. And don't forget lunch. I started getting cramps at lunch - we were at a Chinese buffet - I thought I was going to have to wait in the car. My little pills were in the truck so they saved the day. That and buying a less tight in the waist pair of jeans at Walmart. I changed in the truck as we left. At least we didn't have to come all the way home and ruin the full day of errand running!

Found a couple of nice items at the thrift stores for ebay. It's always interesting to see whether they turn out to be jewels in the rough or just a rough way to throw money away. So far it's worked very well. Last week we bought a Radio Shack 4 station intercom system for $8; it sold for $27. No, we don't plan on becoming incredibly wealthy doing this, just having fun.

Lindsey has developed a liking to a couple of new items that she wants to collect. A few months ago we found a pink Otegari house cookie jar with 4 matching mugs. So far they are better than what we've seen online. She informed me that she has 3 more "houses" coming so I would know what these deliveries are. Who knew Lindsey would like cookie jars? Add to that her other new favorite, vintage Griswold black iron trivets. She got a couple at a yard sale and now hunts for them online. If anyone has any they don't want let us know - she'll probably buy them from you!

We're staying home and doing a lot of projects here today. I'm going thru the "leftover" computers and getting rid of junk. We have sorting boxes in the dining room labeled "yard sale" and "junk store." Of course some will be listed first. We're also working outside in this beautiful weather to begin our transformation of the flower bed by the front yard, cleaning out the greenhouse for an upcoming move to beside my office. (Finding 2 snakes in there when we moved it out by the woods really did it for me and I have never felt comfortable out there).

Brad came over for a minute with a couple of chainsaws to discuss with Danny. We hadn't seen him for a while and it was good. I wish he and Joanne would come to Blackwater for church all the time. I miss singing with him.
