How awful! Yesterday while we were out we heard about Virginia Tech and the massive shootings that were done. We immediately called Melissa to see if she had heard about it. She of course did and had been checking on some of her friends who still attend there. I am so glad she's not there anymore. I know how much this affected us and I can only imagine what those parents who do have children there have gone through.

I've often marveled at both VT and Mary Washington, how easy it is to get into dorms. For Danny and Mom and I you only have to stand there at the door and look parentish. No one asks and usually in 3 minutes or less a student will let you in, either while they are coming out or going in. No one even asks if you are visiting a resident.

My prayers go to the whole VT family and indeed all of Blacksburg. The extended VT family, such as Melissa and her friends are touched as well, knowing that this happened at their beloved "home away from home."
