Rain this morning, now it's over 75° and just the most beautiful day. I wish it would make up it's mind and either be winter or spring. The poor little wisteria buds died last week when it freakishly snowed. They hang like terrible earrings that just won't go away, all lavender gray.
We took a walk with the dogs after lunch. The poor dogs always seem to be at the bottom of the list and don't get out of their pen nearly enough. We have the path around the "desolation" area AKA former woods, that's a nice place to let the dogs explore, a lot more than just running around the back yard like chickens with no heads. They have lots of places to examine, including the swamp where they like to walk in the mucky stuff. In the summer when it's hot they go a bit farther and even lay in it to cool off.
The wind was blowing our way today so we had clear listening of the beautiful church bells when they chimed the hour. We heard the 2:00 chime while we ate a late lunch on the deck; then the 3:00 went off just before we finished our walk. Hearing the bells always clears my head of anything I was thinking about and I just stop and listen and enjoy. It's all good.
I'm suppose to go to a jewelry party this evening. Now my head is hurting a lot. Yesterday I just felt like I wanted my head to fall off and sit patiently in my lap. My neck hurst so bad I sometimes just try to find the balance point and not move. Maybe when I get the shots for my arm tingling it will help my neck too. But that's not until the beginning of May.
Tomorrow is Friday so I've got to get a lot of auctions ready for posting on eBay tomorrow. I like to get them out over the weekend. I seem to sell better. I'm anxious to see what will happen when I list the World War I Army Eisenhower jacket we bought. Dan has looked up the medals and patches and says whoever wore this was some kind of hero and had been in some terrific battles. The guy had a Purple Heart!
Arlene has brought me the coolest 1916 and 1917 Needlecraft magazines. They're really just little newspapers, not in too good a condition. But the ads and articles are divine! Cream of Wheat Company was a sponsor and had full page ads, paintings by Edward V. Brewer, featuring black people in the kitchens. They're really neat. Since Arlene wants to put them on eBay it will be interesting to see what they bring as well.
Tired eyes, tired head, tired neck, tired back, tired arm. Guess I need to go rest up. Happy Hour is tomorrow evening and I want to be there...you come too!
