In the middle of the morning I have a note that comes up to remind me to get up and move around before I get too stiff. So Danny and I finished making a retaining wall I started yesterday. We used up all the cinderblocks that had been supporting the pool deck by being underground. We'd already dug them up and I started standing them on edge yesterday. Today we pulled a few more from a pile by the edge of the woods to complete the miniature wall by the hosta bed. It will make it much easier to cut grass around and help define the area. Without the deck everything was just sort of hanging there.
We let Willie and Sweetie out of their pen while we were out working. Sweetie just loved coming in and out of the flowers while we worked until we had to stop and move away from the flowers to keep them from getting totally distroyed. She was having a wonderful time; they both were. It has been awhile since we let them out and didn't take them into the woods path. They were very good, staying close to home the entire time. Dan took the opportunity to clean their pen out some. So I guess you could say he fertilized the woods today too!
We received Melissa's passport yesterday from FedEx so it looks like we'll be heading up to Richmond Sunday. She's leaving Monday for Africa and definately needs that paperwork! Of course this weekend the Queen is in town and it's Nascar weekend in Richmond. Not sure what kind of traffic we're going to be seeing. I guess it's a good thing we don't have an appointment.
I had planned to try to get up my nerve and play the keyboard in church tomorrow. Now I have a good excuse to wait another week. There may be something good about not starting something new on Communion Sunday.
Danny and I went over to the shop for lunch today. Dad cooked fish for the guys. Randy, Rusty, Gary, Ronnie and Mr. Lane were there. It was really good, fried, greenbeans and corn and several kinds of fried fish. I didn't feel well afterwards and had to come home early. I laid down for awhile and woke up when Melissa called.
We have tentative plans for doing lunch tomorrow with her and Rob. I spoke with Lindsey while ago and she might be going with us too. It would be a good send-off for Melissa.
Lindsey said "Mom, you'll never guess what I did today!" Well, she went body surfing with a wetsuit and everything. Keep on, and she'll start actually getting athletic! I think it's all too cool. Wes seems to already being a good influence.
I'm going to influence myself inside and see what's cooking!
