A quick week

Has this been a quick week for you? The Memorial Day holiday seemed to screw up my sense of what day it is. Even today at work someone was surprised that it's already Thursday. I'm just struggling to get through this week and maybe next week will be on a more even keel.

Melissa is suppose to come home tomorrow. We haven' seen her since she left for her trip to Africa. We're all dying to see her and hear how it went "straight from the horse's mouth." So much better than forwarding emails, etc.

Work is going well. They like what I'm doing and keep telling me I'd doing very well for a "non-horse people." When I was interviewed I told them the closest I came to owning a horse was in my dreams. In my dreams I owned no less that the "Black Stallion" from the book series by Walter Farley. They made movies from it a few years ago. I mush prefer the book. Somehow during the time I was reading Mickey Rooney never quite fit my vision as being one of the characters.

Danny is still plugging away at his enormous list of things to do. I told him he needs to throw a little "enjoy life" into the mix sometimes. He's to the point now where he's really getting tense a lot because he hasn't accomplished as much as he'd hoped before he has to start making money on the outside. It just seemed like everything fell apart right when he retired so he ended up spending a lot of time on things he hadn't figured into the mix. Like when the transmission had to be replaced in the SUV.

I feel like my transmission needs work. Everyday something else is falling apart on me. I'm not imagining it - my left shoulder is bothering me more and more. Today was the worse one yet. BOTH of them are a pain! I tell you right now I'm not going around with 2 slings!!!

At least for a while longer I can still use the computer and the keyboard. I can't do it as long as I use to, but I'm gradually getting a few things done. Just takes longer. I'm hoping to play for communion this Sunday. Sylvia met me at church today to go over some music. She was awefully sweet to do that for me, but she's such a nice lady any time.

Yesterday I went to an appointment I had been told up until the time I walked into the door that it was on Wednesday. No, it's Thursday. Explains why they couldn't find my paperwork even though I'd spoken to several people on 2 different occasions about having it ready. This is typical of Chesapeake General Hospital. It's been years since I've attempted to do anything with them. It will be years before I go again.
If I die tonight or fall out of bed don't take me to CGH!
