Danny started his new job yesterday. So far, so good. When he came home we sat down and he gave me a blow-by-blow description of his new work day. At this point it's pretty hectic. The guy who left after 13 years took his tools with him and it seems they had come to depend on quite a few of those tools. So one of the first things they are tackling at Shore Flyte is figuring out what they need to replace. In the meantime some customers are coming in and Dan is just trying to figure out what's what and who's who.
And he even has the shirt! Yep, they measured him for uniforms but also gave him a spanking new white pullover with the company logo on the front. That certainly isn't for working around oil and water, but maybe if there is a big meeting somewhere Dan will be ready.
They also gave him a key to the whole she-bang.
Dan says there are a couple of young guys who pretty much know what they're doing; I know he said the owner wants Dan to be able to teach some of his tips and tricks to the younger men who are just starting out.
Dan was smiling when he came home. That is definately a first in the last 15 years. Always before he was coming home from City Garage. I've been there and done that; I ain't going back. Neither is Danny.
A real new beginning to a new chapter in his life. Let's hope this test run will be a winner in the long run. ~ LJ
