My week is really messed up now. I worked today, Wednesday, from 9am - 1:40pm. I'm working again tomorrow and may go in again on Friday. I guess if the boss wi'll let me I may as well get some hours in while I can.
Yesterday Danny and I went to Leigh Hospital to get me pre-registered and do the labs. Man, their system leaves a bit to be desired, but at least I don't have to go thru that again (I hope). I was issued a hospital arm band which is already getting unreadable. I taped Saran Wrap around it to seal it for my morning shower; it helped some, but I'm sure by Sept. 6 it will be useless for identification. That's 10 days to wear it. I also went to get fitted for my new sling. Lucky me -- they didn't have a small, so I have a medium to take with me when I go for surgery. It's gonna be a bear wearing that thing. There's a foam band that fits between me and the sling so my arm is held out about 6-8 inches from my body. Can't wait to find out if I have to sleep sitting up with that thing on! I forgot to ask while there. I had a million questions as it was.
Still nothing happening at the church I applied to for part time secretary. I just called. Maybe I'll have time to get healed up by the time they call me (if they ever do).
Dan and I went out front by the road and he trimmed the road cedar so we can see to get out of the drive way. What I thought was a vine is actually a tree that's grown up between the cedar and the pole. Who knew? We really need to get a chainsaw out there when it gets cooler. But for now it's a little bit easier to see around.
Dan's enjoying being home for the time being again. Today was beautiful and he is getting a lot of things done. He'd been cleaning the gutters out. We have had a beautiful waterfall down our big kitchen window during the last couple of storms. Beautiful, but I'm sure it can't be good. Dan's going to work for East Coast Lawn Center part time after I get done with my surgery mess. It's way way closer than Camden, since it's on Battlefield near the end of the by-pass. They also have a place in Moyock. He can work on small engines for them, lawnmowers, chainsaws, etc. like he's been doing. He's also going to continue working on boat motors and trailers here at home. He'll be busy for sure.
We have a row of red zinnias that came up where the pool used to be. We'd planted a bunch of old seeds, but only the red zinnias and a couple of punie marigolds made it through the sand. The zinnias have been a real butterfly catcher and we have really enjoyed watching them stop by each flower on their way across the yard. You should make sure to buy some zinnias next year and plant some!
