Busy Weekend

I started this post last night, but forgot to save it when Danny got home from work and asked if I was "ready yet." He was taking me to dinner for our anniversary! Well, I quickly got ready and off we went to Seacrest for a lovely seafood feast. It was a wonderful surprise!

Getting back to my original post it was a very busy weekend. Friday I had therapy as well as a follow-up doctor's appointment in the morning. When I got back home Danny and I went on errands, including groceries, Napa, Home Depot, and a few others. KFC was the quick choice of the day. We bought a new hot water heater at HD. Ours sprang a non-recoverable leak. It was about 14 years old.

Melissa and Rob got in from Richmond shortly after we got home. Lindsey came home from work. We all headed over to the poker house where we met up with everybody else. Happy Hour was moved!

We all caravanned down to Camden to dine at the TopSide Restaurant. Mom and Dad celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary the day before on Oct. 4. I think there were 15 of us all together. Although the caravan didn't quite stay together and even included a couple of turn-arounds we managed to get there by our reservation time of 7:30pm. We had a great time and came home filled to the brim and ready for 'jamies and the remote control.

Saturday Danny went hunting all day, starting with breakfast with "the boys" and later came home relaxed and in a good mood. Since he was already gone when I got up I made bacon and Lindsey made the best omelet ever. She and I both like cheese inside; Dan's a sprinkler and puts it on top to melt.

Melissa and Rob went out riding around acting like tourists all day after Melissa got a quick hair trim at Martha's house. They tackled our leftovers; they don't like a lot of breakfast so it was all good.

Lindsey went to Q-Masters to watch the final qualifing rounds for the National Billiards tournament which will start next weekend. Her friend Ray actually won qualifying and will be able to participate next week, hopefully to win. Q-Masters hosts the event each year, but because of the size it's held at the Chesapeake convention center. Lindsey will definately be going to cheer for her friend!

Next weekend will be my last one before I start my new job working at the church. Since I will be working on Sunday mornings I wanted to go somewhere, ANYwhere, before that happens. We've been talking about it for quite some time now. I finally told Danny if he wasn't going then I'd go by myself. So, that said, we're heading down to see Oriental, NC and a few other hidden jewels of the state. I can't wait. It's kind of a follow-up to that dinner last night for the anniversary. 16 years already, can you believe it?!

And it was also Danny's 60th birthday yesterday. He was born the same year Mom and Dad married. Now you know why it was a busy weekend. We were doing some major juggling to get everything in.

We also had a party at a neighbor's home to celebrate their son's arrival. He was shot in Afganistan a couple of months ago. Of course we wanted to go. He's our local hero!

Well, everyone got through it and now I'm home alone, enjoying the renewed peace and working on my computer. I've had to reload everything, which I don't mind doing every couple of years. I like to purge unused mess. Everything feels fresh.

New computer, new job, new year, new shoulder, new do. What's not to love?!
