It has been one thing after another. Between my new job and therapy I'm on the go constantly. In the meantime I have been working at home on stuff for the church. I'm trying to get my cookbook reproofed after the computer went down. The backup copy was prior to the having the proofing done. Today I changed out my keyboard and mouse for the one that was given to me last Christmas by a former boss. Mine was working just fine, even though I'd worn the keys down and the color was off of the mouse. But earlier this week I came out and nothing was working. Changing the batteries seemed to solve the problem. Today I had the same problem, no mouse and no keyboard. Well, I knew the batteries were ok so I just figured it was time to let it go.

I'm also going to be setting up a new computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer when I go back to work. My office has been painted this week and all the dark wood is white now. The room is much brighter and feels larger, of course. Pastor Ben wants us to sort through some of the stuff we took out of there before bringing it back in, so hopefully it will be a lot less congested when everything is said and done.

Danny and I went to church yesterday at 8am. I must say it makes for a long day. They don't have classes (yet, but they are in the planning stage). But they do have about 2 hours of worship service, or at least it has been the last 2 weeks. I really hope it's not the "norm." A long service with lots of contemporary music may just be what's keeping the place from growing or at least a factor. At least that's the Jordans' opinion. But it could just be us. Yesterdat I counted about 32 people there; the week before I believe it was about 40 or so. They're surrounded by communities and having a school in the building I would think more folks would attend.

I have my work cut out for me. The pastor thinks I'm doing a great job and wants me to keep my eyes and ears on lookout and let him know what I think about things. Good to know.

Last night it got down in the 40s temp wise. I guess when I walked into the house from the building my sinuses revolted and I had a headache all night. Today I look like a racoon with circles under my eyes. I guess I'll sleep much better tonight; it couldn't be any worse.

My little cheapy phone in the bedroom is acting up so I guess we'll have to replace that. Again we changed the batteries and thought that was a fix, but this morning when I went to use the phone in the building I get the dialing tones, like someone is making a call. I need to go unplug that bedroom phone.

Speaking of phones we have let our cell phone go so if you have us listed with the 9806 number you can delete it. We are thinking about going with a pay as you go plan later on maybe. We averaged about 15 minutes a month, hardly what you'd want to pay much for on a regular basis.

Well, I need to proof the cookbook, do some genealogy, make a couple of calls, and eat lunch before dressing for work. I have to be there by 1:30; I'll work until 5:30. 5:30 is good, most of the traffic is starting to thin out. I only have a little bit of traffic anyway since I use backroads for the most part.

At least I don't have to prepare for trick or treaters. Ever since we moved back by the woods and moved the little white building that the girls used to play in that was under the pine trees we haven't had anyone come up. We gave up leaving a light on years ago. I miss it some but then I snap out of it.

Happy Halloween! LJ
