Rainy Sunday

We don't get much rain anymore, so today and yesterday were nice changes. We had rain. God rained His blessings on us. When you read in the Bible there's a direct correlation each time it's mentioned. So we got blessed today.

I worked 9am-12:30 today. It was nice not having to be there at 7:30am for a change. Pastor is visiting his son in GA so we had a Navy Chaplain bring our message. It was my first time to have a black minister other than seeing one on TV. I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Only once did he start to "get a rhythm" and it made me smile inside to see it happen. His message was about Daniel and having an "excellent spirit." It was really good. I didn't get to speak to him afterwards but I did tell his wife how much I enjoyed it. I'd met them before...really nice people.

Yesterday Lindsey got some of her stuff moved to her house. Of course I took my camera. I would be a remiss mommi if I hadn't. And of course, everytime I took a photo she would look up, go "Oh,, God, Mom, why?" and say a little curse in my direction. But I know it's all good. It was rather funny when after we'd finished unloading our truck and her car she observed that we'd already moved half of her stuff with one trip there! I'm sure when she ever moves out of that house she'll find that it's all expanded and will take way more trips to get it all out again. Stuff has a way of collecting.

We all went to the local Salvation Army stores looking for house stuff. We found a couple of end tables (or night stands, depending on how she uses them), a bathroom cabinet to mount over the throne in the main bathroom, and a large dresser for her to store her jeans and other clothes that don't hang in the closet. All of this was oak and had just arrived at the stores. That's the only way to get the good stuff - be there when it's put out. In fact we got the manager to knock off some of the prices to boot! We were all pleased, especially when it all fit in the Explorer. Believe it or not, the guy offered to deliver it if it hadn't fit!

We're all off tomorrow so we're hoping to get a little more done. Lindsey is starting to get another cold. Grammy had one, then me, and I guess it's Lindsey's turn. She's had a lot of them this year. I think the smokey atmosphere at Q-Masters isn't helping her much either. I know she's not in smoke much but sometimes it doesn't take much to have an impact. I gave her some vitamin C and she's been working on the laptop from bed all day.

Speaking of bed, that is where I'm headed. I've spent about 3 hours putting Christmas decorations away and I'm not walking upright too good now. I wanted to get this online before I crashed, because once I do, I'm not moving anymore.
