A Week In

Last week this time I was pretty bummed. Lost my job ya-da, ya-da. Today was my worse day. There's not a day goes by I don't wonder what if, what did I do? Today the loser aspect kicked in big time. I fought it for a good while but today it took over and I just couldn't help it. Maybe it's the moon or something.

Danny and I went off on errands for a while today. I finished up Betty Jane's book yesterday after spending from 9am until 5:15 with her. I was determined to finally reach a conclusion. Today I ordered her copies. We also went to the bank and Sam's Club. Sam's gave me deja-vu since Lindsey and I went there a few days ago. Nothing like big servings to get you through the day. Starving, we went up the road and stopped by the Formosa Garden for chung fung food before heading back towards one of our fav thrift stores and heading home. We were very very good at the thrift store. Danny found a pair of dress shoes and I found a candle shade and base set that I'll put online soon.

When we got home the answering machine was blinking. It couldn't be the ordered books already because I had given them my cell number and they hadn't used it. It was a follow-up on that job application I had dropped off on the way back home from Lindsey's house last week; a part time receptionist position near Holland Road & Lynnhaven. I have an appointment tomorrow to talk with them. Danny and I aren't too sure about this though. Hours are 4-8pm and some Saturdays 9-1. Saturdays OK, not sure about the evenings. And the guy said they don't pay much.

The way I'm trying to look at it is if I can afford to drive over there. I don't mind low pay as long as I'm getting my quarters in for social security. I'm so close. That's why losing the other job was such a bummer.

But still, evening hours. Not the best place to be either, at night. I'm not a night owl. I'm not hardly an evening owl. I like getting up early and working then. I even type better in the morning.

Get this - I had mentioned before that Dr Barr wanted me to take tai chi. Well, this is a karate studio! And they teach tai chi. Not that I'd be able to do it or anything. But I find it an interesting point. Pray that something else will open up for me.
