The Bright Spot

It's been a rough couple of weeks. I think this evening will be the bright spot. The whole family is gatherine over Mom's for clam chowder, her famous rolls and BIRTHDAY CAKE! As I write Melissa and Rob are fighting wind and rain to get here from Richmond, Lindsey will come after work; the rest of us are already here and it's just started raining outside my door. That means the chowder will be even better -- you know it's always good to eat soup when it's raining or snowing!

My birthday isn't until Monday but it's logical to push the celebration up a bit. Plus I really need to see some up time for a change. This will be good.

Yesterday Danny and I put the waterbed mattress back in our bed. We changed a couple of years ago and I think we've been going downhill ever since. Both of us have been getting neck aches and back aches and it's been a slow progressive thing that was hard to recognize until recently. I'm hoping that going back to that doctr disapproved sleeping device will be a winner for us. We've been used to one for 20 years or more. Sure, I've got arthritis and a bad back but I don't think it came from the bed. You only have to look at Mom's medical history to see where I get it from!

Anyway, I can tell you that the heated waterbed is a godsend for my achy hips. Last night it was SO nice and warm and cozy. It seemed like the first time we've been warm in a long while. You know I feel the cold in my metal hips; on icy days you can actually feel a line on the side of my thigh that colder than the rest of my body. I can assure you that when it permeates the inside it's COLD in all caps!!!

Yes, it was really really nice! I can't wait to go there again tonight!

We've put the Dormia mattress in Lindsey's old room. That thing is like Tempurpedic, only cheaper. Nice and soft and perfect for someone who's not a waterbed person. (I think Rob will like sleeping on that tonight instead of the air mattress we usually have for him)!

Since we're getting ready to go into the "bad weather" mode in this area I'm going to not worry about a job just yet. After thinking and praying about the receptionist job with the karate place I decided I just didn't want to be crossing a parking lot alone at night for really low pay. I called and cancelled my interview and wished him well.

I think God will have something lined up for me soon.

Cousin Deb wrote me saying she was praying for me (thanks cuz)! And I know others are praying too. And if God's on your side who can be against you?! He's got my back! So it's all good. And who knows? Maybe the church will really call me back some day! Miracles are always in season.

Have a great weekend! I will!
