I was surprised to see Mrs. Gilbert and Mrs. Shirley over there. They said they'd been going since about Christmas. Since I left OG way before that I had no idea they were attending now. It was nice to see them. I miss seeing people. That's what I miss about Blackwater, seeing people I grew up around. But BBC is all different now and I may as well be going to another church as that one. At least I felt like I was missed and welcomed by lots of people today. It was nice.
It was also nice to sing hymns again. I missed the classics. I noticed that I missed the looseness and spontenaity of Cedar Road though. Everyone was in their proper places and not a "Praise the Lord" was heard anywhere. No one would be caught dead clapping their hands while singing either. Yes, I missed the old hymns, but didn't miss the stiffness of it.
After we greeted everyone and got hugs before and after church we headed down to Atlas Diner for some lunch. They know they make those plates too big. Danny had the Luna Tuna and I had the Shanghai Chicken salads. Some kinda good!!! Was nice to get out again.
We had to get gas while we were out and it's over $3 a gal. One of the reasons we don't get out much. We had to make this trip do for all and we ended it with a stop off at the "BLOOM" store. We're not much on the new Bloom stores, preferring the old dowdy Food Lions any day. It was so much easier to find things before. I sat in the truck today while he ran in for 3 items. When he came back out he was mad as a wet hen. I take it the bread was in several sections of the store instead of all being together like it used to.
Yep, you better do your homework to go grocery shopping these days.
On our return home Danny finished up painting the last wall in Lindsey's room. After things dry we'll make it into a guest room. I can't wait!
I, on the other hand, spent the afternoon trying to solve a problem with a website I'm making. I looked online at the tutorials, downloaded examples, and tried every combination I could think of the get these pages to load right. FINALLY, after exhausting just about everything mentioned in the help files I branched off to another part and that was the key to success! Boy, it's like reading between the lines when you read the Bible. All they said was it was easy to do with navigation bars, not that each one had to be edited a certain way. I guess I'll spend some time fixing things up now that I've written some notes down. It was all the more frustrating because I'd solved this problem once before, but thinking I'd remember, didn't put every step in my notebook. It's in there now!
Oh, well. I have a couple of jobs I'm thinking on, but you know the circus is coming into town...that means snow somewhere along the line. I don't need to be out in snow. I may just email a resume in this week.
Melissa is starting her shifts at the police dept. this week I believe. Her classes are going full force as well. She's taking piano and doing very well, but is tight with her playing for anybody. I've had the privilege of 1 small concert for which I've very grateful and I cried with joy at seeing and hearing her play. Maybe she's avoiding that scene again!
And Lindsey is at Brosnan Forest with her work, hardly work though. They carpooled and will be back Wednesday, I think. (before the circus snow?)
It's late for me, almost 7:30. I'm hardly ever out on the computer at this time. But the rest of my ebay stuff is going out in a minute. I'll close now and start shutting down the computer windows. A quick trip across the deck and I'll be Danny will be there waiting for me, he usually does. He sits there watching tv in the living room and pops up when he sees my door open. Cool! He's a good guy.
Take the evening off, tell 'em I said so!
