We are ever grateful to Tedricka (as I fondly call him) AKA Ted, for coming to our rescue and helping us move the desk this afternoon. The desk weighs a ton and does not disassemble at all. If it ever needs to be moved again we have agreed that it will be with a chainsaw.
This move took two dollies and a lot of grunting and groaning to get it from the building to the living room. From there it slid across the floor like butter.
Before we finish putting the drawers back in I’m going to put my computer up to see how the glare factor coming from the picture window will affect functionality. The photo shows the view from the front door.
I may have to move the desk over where the keyboard is. Each morning sunlight pours in, striking exactly where the desk is positioned, as seen in the 9:30am picture taken when the buffet was still there. I work a lot in the mornings.
The buffet is now in the foyer where the bookcases used to be. This is not the final vision but you get the idea. I think we may look for a coat tree to go in the corner or maybe an umbrella stand (in my case, canes). I hope to move a mirror in there to open the foyer up and bring in more light. Already having the lamp is a great help because the overhead hall light is sadly lacking. A slow process at best, but we’re getting there.
