This morning we had a visitor; make that two because one was reluctant. A poor little possum was acting cold, not moving much, would go a little way and sit a while shivering before changing spots again. She got almost to the deck steps and didn’t really pay me much mind as long as I was quiet. Her buddy showed up just in passing as he went along the woods edge; we think he went into the woods path. (I drew a small yellow arrow pointing to him on the left side of the woods photo; she’s lower right).
After it warmed up a bit the little lady sniffed the air several times before making her way to the possum tree on the left side of the hammock. A few years ago there was a nest inside. I guess she smelled “possum” scent still lingering or else, maybe she grew up there. She probably spent at least an hour circling the tree base, sometimes heading up to where the entrance was, about 3’ high, before coming back down. Right now we don’t know where she is but I bet we see her again soon.
Today I tested printing with my new old HP 6250 printer we picked up at the thrift store yesterday. It has the photo tray and worked like a charm. We moved the last big thing into the office this morning using the slides we bought yesterday at Home Depot. I kept telling him we should get them. They are wonderful! We moved the living room desk from the right side of the entertainment center to the office to hold printers and paper. So far so good.
We’ve done all this work on the office and now on the last day when we were doing little stuff I think I have twisted a rib again. So I’m sitting here with the black back support belt on. Luckily I have a follow-up with Dr. Barr coming up if I can last that long (Feb 10). Since all the big stuff is done now I have the details, like figuring out what goes where. I have two credenzas instead of one so I have lots of options with plenty of choices to fill them.
