Finally we have reached the point where we actually planted something! It took 3 different visits to the garden to get the soil ready due to bad backs and bad weather. Today He ran the little tiller across the big clods of dirt that were created before when the ground was still wet. He raked it all nice and smooth, carefully going around the two Swiss Chard plants, the 5 onions, and the two spinach plants that made it through winter. Not sure how they are going to turn out, but we’ll give them a chance until we find out they’re bitter as hell. Hopefully that won’t happen.
After he left I was able to get two little rows of the Sugar Snap Peas planted. Unfortunately because of my hip and collarbones and a few other crappy body parts I wasn’t able to get the lettuce done.

So He said we’d get that done tomorrow. I want to get the lettuce in the ground quickly. Seems like every year we are too late and about time everything is coming up nicely the lettuce bolts because it’s already too hot. We can’t win. But we’re trying extra hard this time.
I’d show you a picture but it’s nothing but dirt. I’ll spare you that detail.
