In 2008 I started my online thrift store on eCrater. For the most part I was very happy with it. After Google started messing with small business owners with their incredibly intensive requirements it was hard to get sale items to show up on search results. I gave it probably a year longer than I should have, maybe more. But today, after several weeks of work, I took the last item out and closed those eCrater doors for good.
It was kinda hard because I'd been there so long, like I was being disloyal or something. But eCrater wasn't doing their best to make sure my items were being seen, while those on other sites were. I ended up moving some items to a new store location and others I researched to see if they were still worth the effort - those not making the cut will be in our next yard sale sometime soon. And after that, you'll be able to find them at the local thrift store.
We still have the Eccentric Thrifter name and still offer the same customer service, usually shipping items the same day they are bought. We have a new look and space. I think the fun will come back now and I look forward to see what the rest of this year and it's holiday buying season brings.
